It’s said, "Life belongs to the
energetic". Without a doubt Shailaja is winning in life with the infinite
energy that she has. She is one vivacious and energetic person. She has a
magnetic persona, and it is difficult to not like her. Her passion towards life
and the discipline is awe-inspiring. She hails from an
academically inclined family with her father being a retired ACP and mother a
retired medical office from GMC, Nagpur. She also went the same way and completed her master’s
in computer management and went on to work for organizations like
Citibank, Wipro etc before taking a plunge into her passion. She has
always been a performer, a go getter with a passion for fitness. The seeds
of an active lifestyle were soon in her childhood, when she saw her busy
parents taking time for an active lifestyle. However her first push came from her brother, who himself was an athlete. She feels at home when on stage,
she has won many pageants like, Miss. Vidarbha, Miss Nagpur
and currently a participant of Mrs. India International. She believes in
giving back to the community, to infuse fitness as a way if life. She has
conducted events like "Women's Walkathon" and "WINGS-2019"
to felicitate inspiring weight loss stories and give a
platform to her batch girls to showcase their talent. Lets now hear more from
1. What service(s) or product(s) do you offer/ manufacture?
I take fitness batches
and provide diet consultation. We have transformed many girls in terms of
weight-loss, stamina and their overall fitness. We are into overall fitness
like Aerobics, Zumba, Weight training, HIIT, Functional, CrossFit and lots of
2. How did you get your idea or concept?
I always had the zeal for
fitness and a lot of my friends wanted me to help them in achieving their goal.
One of my friend Rashmi persuaded me to start a training program for her and so
my journey began. I started with just 4 girls and have by now transformed 300+
girls 😀 and going strong. Its
been 5 years of passion and hard work and I see it reflect in my girls.
3. What do the
day-to-day responsibilities of the role look like?
Being a fitness trainer
and a motivator requires me to be first disciplined about my workout schedule and
food habits. It is challenging though, I keep planning and adding variety to my
workout plans. I keep changing a lot of things in my workout regime and try to
provide my girls with something new and challenging every time. Since I believe
in giving individual attention to every girl who comes to my batch. I also try
and overhaul their eating habits, to make them a fitness-oriented person with
an enhanced lifestyle.
4. What are some of the
mistakes you wish you could have avoided?
Not starting early enough.
But as they say, "Better late than never". I always had the
entrepreneurial streak in me, and I am glad I took the correct steps.
5. Are you happy and
what would you change?
YES! I couldn't be
happier. I am so satisfied with the way things have progressed. Every session
makes me so happy, since I put my heart and soul into it. It gives me immense
pleasure to witness the transformation of my girls. Their success stories fill
me with pride. I started with a group of girls from Pune, but today have girls from
across India, in fact globally that attend my online fitness sessions.
6. A quote you stand by ...
I believe in giving my
100% in whatever I do. I am a very disciplined person in my personal and
professional life. I take each day as a new one, while being faithful, worthful
and truthful to my lifestyle. Last but not the least, "Your body is the
most valuable asset you have, love it, worship it! "
Wow! what an inspiring personality. We all build our lives and careers but helping so many ladies and touching their lives is a blessing. Shailaja is one such blessed soul, you can see the satisfaction that she gets, and that reflects and exudes as peace in her. Discipline looks like the backbone of her life.
