How to Prevent Hair Loss from Occurring |
By Jody Have you noticed that you are beginning to lose a lot of hair lately? Perhaps you have noticed an abnormal amount of hair that is in the bottom of the tub every time that you take a shower. Or perhaps you have noticed an usual amount of extra hair that is left in your brush - even when you clean it frequently. If so, one of the first thoughts that may have crossed your mind is whether or not you will have to use Rogaine in the future. However, there are a variety of different actions that you can take in order to prevent your hair loss from getting to this point. Read on to learn about some of the simple steps that you can take in order to prevent the awful side effects of hair loss from occurring. - Wear your hair down. One of the most important things that you can do in order to prevent hair loss from occurring is wear your hair down, especially if it is medium or longer. Although it may sound very insignificant, the more often that you decide to wear your hair up, the more often it will break- leading to hair loss. Another one of the main reasons that wearing your hair up can cause hair loss is due to the fact that our hair often gets stuck to the ties that we use to put it up with, which once again, causes breakage. You can easily prevent breakage- and ultimately prevent hair loss- by wearing your hair down rather than up.
- Don't brush wet hair. Chances are that you have probably been told that you should never brush your hair when it is wet, and that you should instead use a comb. However, what you probably did not know is that there is much truth to this statement. Much like wearing your hair down, brushing your hair when it is wet can also cause a huge amount of breakage to occur. One of the main things that you are wondering is what you should do if you do not have a comb handy every time that you take a shower. Well, your next best option is to wait until your hair has dried before you brush it. However, if you do have a comb, this is not recommended at all. Combing your hair when it is wet is essential, but avoiding brushing it when it is wet is an essential step to preventing hair loss from occurring.
- Take a multi-vitamin. Although you might not even realize it, one of the main reasons that you might be experiencing hair loss is due to poor nutrition. In order to get all of the nutrients that your body absolutely needs, taking a multi-vitamin is your best option. Taking this very easy step can help you prevent any further hair loss from occurring.
- Wash your hair daily. If this is not something that you already do, it is something that you should certainly consider doing. Although many people believe that you should only wash your hair once to twice a week in order to make sure that you do not wash away your natural oils, some people need to wash it everyday in order to regulate the amount of hair that falls out when you take a shower. It is also important for you to monitor the amount of hair that you lose. Losing about a hundred strands of hair a day is considered healthy.
- Don't avoid getting your hair cut. If you have been putting off getting your hair cut for months or even years, this is definitely not something that you should do if you are interested in preventing hair loss. When you get your hair cut, you will be able to get rid of any breakage that you might have, which will ultimately make your hair a whole lot more healthy. While it probably seems insignificant, getting your hair cut often may be one of the easiest ways to prevent hair loss.
These are some of the most important things that you will need to take into consideration when preventing hair loss from further occurring. However, if you have taken all of these steps and still notice that you are losing a lot of hair, you should be sure to visit the doctor. Although you might not even know it, your hair loss problem very well may be triggered by a medical condition. Also, you should find out whether or not male or female pattern hair loss runs in your family. Sometimes, nature just tends to work against us and your hair loss may not be preventable.
