How to Fix Out of Control Eyebrows |
You've got disobedient brows. They're not doing what you want and it's making you mad! Lucky for you, there are a ton of great eyebrow-taming products I can recommend, and I can tell you how to use them. Personally, I love working with old-fashioned moustache wax, which I buy at the drugstore and always have in my kit. The main ingredient is beeswax. It's cheap and will hold brows all day, though it's dense, so you can only use a trace and you really have to brush through it. Here's what to do: - Start by brushing through your brows with a hard-bristle toothbrush (not the same one you brush your teeth with, of course!). You're going to brush with light pressure up and outward to the right for the right side, and up and outward to the left for the left side. Repeat five times on each side.
- If there are any extra long hairs that are bothering you, you can trim them, but do so carefully. Trim the longer ones with a small scissor made for the face.
- Don't go overboard when tweezing. It may be tempting to pluck any wildly riotous deviants. But be careful, because it's easy to take out more hair than you mean to. You might want to consult a professional the first time. Some folks have their brows waxed, which I don't do because I always get a rash afterward, but I know plenty of people who wax regularly.
- After you've brushed your brows, take a tiny drop of the wax and warm it between your fingers for a second, then softly but firmly rub it onto your brows, in the same direction that you brushed them. Brush again to remove any remnants of wax.
- If wax is too dense for you to work with, try a gel brow tamer, which usually comes in a mascara-like tube with brushes attached. The consistency is very much like hair gel, and it's easy to use. Just brush up and outward. The results won't last as long as wax, but it's a pretty result that will work for a few hours.
